Gokyo Valley
The Gokyo Valley offers an alternative to the Everest Base Camp trek, providing stunning view of Mt. Everest from a stone’s throw away. Gokyo Valley is one of the four major valleys in the Everest Region. It features five mesmerizing glacial lakes, which are among the most beautiful aspects of the trek. Additionally, the close view of Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201 meters), the sixth highest mountain in the world, adds a unique element to this trek, as Gokyo Valley is the only trekking route where Mt. Cho Oyu is visible. Gokyo Ri (5,357 meters) is the highest point of the trek. According to the standard itinerary, the trek can be completed in 10 days. However, the trek can be extended to include Everest Base Camp via Chola Pass (5,420 meters) or as part of the Three Pass Trek.
