The Everest Base Camp Trek (EBC Trek) is the most popular trekking destination in Nepal and one of the most sought-after destinations in the world. It is located in the Sagarmatha National Park in the Everest Region. The trek leads you to the base of the highest peak in the world, Mt. Everest (8848.86m). While Mt. Everest is undoubtedly the prime attraction of the trek, the stunning mountain views, beautiful valleys, Sherpa culture, lush forests, river banks, and encounter with Himalayan blue sheep, Himalayan impeyan pheasant, musk deer also contribute to making this trek one of the most demanding trekking destinations in the world.
The Everest Base Camp Trek typically starts with 35 minutes’ thrilling flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2850m), which is the most standard way to begin the trek. However, one can also drive from Kathmandu to Paiyan to start the trek. Similarly, a helicopter charter flight is another option. This allows travelers to fly to/from their desired location to commence or conclude the trek. Nevertheless, if you lack recent experience of travelling to high altitude regions, we do not recommend flying to higher elevations to start the trek.
